VSNC, Inc. cordially welcomes you to the Richmond suburb of Glen Allen, Virginia where the 18th Annual Virginia Statewide Neighborhood Conference will be taking place on September 22-23, 2017 at the Richmond Marriott Short Pump Hotel. Located at 4240 Dominion Blvd, Glen Allen, VA 23060 in the heart of Short Pump. this year's conference will provide attendees with a wide variety of activities including: educational workshops, an informative and engaging town hall dialogue, networking opportunities, motivational speakers, the annual statewide Neighborhood Awards Program and a Youth Café specifically designed to engage youth between the ages of 13-18 in their community. Neighborhood residents from across Virginia will once again come together for this one-and-a-half day event to help their neighborhoods reach a better tomorrow by sharing their knowledge, experience, and vision on how to make Virginia’s neighborhoods the neighborhoods of choice.

While each neighborhood has its own unique issues and challenges, the annual Virginia Statewide Neighborhood Conference offers an opportunity for participants to learn best practices that they in turn can use to help resolve the issues impacting their neighborhood’s quality of life for the conference is attended by diverse grassroots neighborhood leaders, youth, non-profit, government staff, and others working in the field of neighborhood success. By attending the conference, participants are provided:

  • Opportunities to network with others and learn best practices for addressing neighborhood issues of the times.
  • Opportunities to become energized and encouraged with tools and information to help better serve the community.
  • A place to showcase positive strides made in their communities/neighborhoods (talent, skills, plans, etc.).
  • An array of topics and workshops designed specifically for youth to help enhance their leadership skills and build their character.
  • A Virginia statewide Neighborhood Awards Program ceremony recognizing the commitment, time, and energy of those who tirelessly volunteer to make their neighborhoods the places they are proud to call home. These awards have been presented since 2000 as a collective “thank you” to those nominated neighborhoods and individuals, and are the only Virginia statewide awards and recognition given to neighborhood organizations and individuals for their neighborhood self-help initiatives.

We hope you will join us this year as we explore their rich neighborhood history, and share the talents, skills and cutting-edge innovations currently underway that are empowering all neighborhoods and residents to connect with one another to overcome their challenges and achieve their successes.
